India finishes with 23 medals in Bahrain Para Badminton
NEW DELHI: India's Para-Badminton team finished the 1st Bahrain International Para-Badminton Championships in Manama with a rich harvest of 23 medals including seven gold medals. Promising doubles shuttle Manisha Ramdass was highlighted with her double gold medal, while Nithya Sre Sumathy Sivan (WS SH6) and Dhinagaran Pandurangan and Sivarajan Solaimalai (doubles SH6) also picked up the other top honors for India. Top para-commuters Pramod Bhagat and Tarun Dhillon also took two gold medals each. Along with Bhagat, Manisha defeated Thailand's Siripong Teamarrom and Nipada Saensupa 21-14, 21-11 to win the mixed doubles gold medal. Manisha also put on a solid show when she teamed with Mandeep Kaur to win Gold in the SL3-SU5 Women's Doubles Final. It took them just 23 minutes to defeat Paralympic duo Palak Kohli and Parul Dalsukhbhai Parmar 21-11, 21-11.
